THe longer you wait in the first trimester at least the more of the HGC hormone goes up. The pregnancy test detects the HGC. It is lowest close to your period and then goes up and up every day after your period. It is more accurate a week or two after your period than the first day after your missed period.

huh? At two weeks late, you should get an accurate HPT result. Before your period it's less accurate, because a negative can mean negative, or it can mean you're testing too early.

just a correction, pregnancy tests will not be positive throughout the whole pregnancy.. HCG levels will be low towards the end of pregnancy.. sometimes even to undetectable levels with home pregnancy kit.. FYI..
HCG levels peak at around 8weeks.. so if you wanted to be sure, you might wanna wait.. but you can go to a laboratory and they can do the test quantitatively.. which can detect even low levels.. but in any case, you might wanna be extra careful with what you do and eat and drink..

it should be
however... from experience, I got 3 false negatives starting the week after I missed my period taking one every week. Finally, after missing my 2nd period, I got a positive. However, i think this is rare.

God, why are people so stupid? Pregnancy tests remain positive the ENTIRE TIME YOU ARE PREGNANT!
