if i connect my wirless laptop to a desktop that has no internet would i get wirless internet on the desktop?

i have two desktop computers one with a dsl connection and a router the other without any connection i also have a laptop with wirless connection i dont have an extra wire or anything to connect the internet to the second desktop. so i want to know if i connect my laptop to the second desktop using a usb would i get wirless or any kind of internet connection by using this method?

No, you'd have to connect using either wireless or wired internet. You can then share the internet connection from the desktop with the USB connection tot he 'net.

The better thing to do would be to get a wireless modem/router and a couple of wireless adapters for the desktops.

In order to allow internet acces through your laptop while using your desktop... go to (on your laptop):



click on

double click on

right click on the active connection (the one you use to connect to the internet, NOT the 1394 connection) and select 'properties'

click the 'advanced' tab and check the box that says 'allow other computers to connect through this computer's internet connection'

hook your desktop to your laptop via ethernet cable and start surfin'!

Um, an Ethernet patch cable costs like $5.00. If you need a wireless Ethernet adapter $40. Is money really an issue?

extremely common pal.... *make confident both your laptop's Workgroup call are same...Mycomputer->right click->houses->laptop call....If u wnt to modify the WORKGROUP call u can use the change button on an same exhibit ( that is major IN record AND PRINTER SHARING) *After making confident both has same WORKGROUP....Run community setup Wizard interior the administration Panel...... *once after that is performed....share the information on both the computers.....
