Do some "networking" at Christian songwriting conferences. One of the best things I ever did as a Christian/gospel songwriter, was attending the Babbie Mason Music Conference a few years ago. There you can hook up with lots of industry professionals, as well as up-and-coming talent such as yourself. You will make a lot of connections that will prove useful and meaningful over the course of your career. You can ask questions of the professionals, take classes, but most importantly, network and meet people. I would urge you to attend if you are financially able. Here is a link to Babbie's letter for this year's music conference: http://www.babbie.com/conference_home.htm

It really depends on the person and how their writing process is. Some people take a lot of time, maybe a few days for one single song, others might spew like 5 out at a time. It just depends on how you write personally. I could easily write at least 4 songs a day, but that doesn't mean I will like most or any of them, which is why I don't write that way. I write when I have an idea worth writing down. It takes me maybe an hour or less sometimes, but maybe a few days for others.

First of all, be sure to get your copyright or "musical patent" on all that you have written.......therefore for any artist who uses them or anyone else - you will receive royalties.

Then - pick an artist of your choice ..... send at least one on CD form for the person to listen to......express in letter form that this is a personallly written song.
Give contact information you can be reached by.

Also - find a lower level (up and coming) person who works local circuits or perhaps opens for higher level persons that can have chance to use your song as well.

NEVER allow another person to record or use your music before copyrighted......thus credit given where credit due.

You need a champion, somebody in the industry to help you along the way OR record them yourself.
