Learn how to boot it from a so-called system disk. If it's an older computer you might be able to use a floppy, otherwise use a CD or usb stick. Once the computer boots, at the command prompt type "format c:" (without the quotes)
That'll fix the little tart ;-) Her other boyfriends won't be IM'ing that machine for while.

My girlfriend's cousin said he knows how to clear a password on a hp, but, wants to have a pgp signed note from your cousins girlfriend that the hp computer system is really his, and that ya'll aren't cracking into your mom's hp computer system.
Any advice on how to certify your honesty and honorable intentions, so that he doesn't go to jail for cracking computers?
A notarized affidavit or a Sheriff's Title of ownership would do.

Inside the box on the motherboard is a password jumper. Power down, remove the jumper, power on, screen says ALL PASSWORDS CLEARED! power off, replace the jumper, boot up and is fixed.

Sounds like he is the person she was trying to keep off of her stuff a few days ago... if she wanted him on the HP she would set him up his own account. Tell him to ask her... or just let him use your computer

at the welcome screen hit the ctrl-alt-delete combination two times and it will take you to the classic log in screen and you should be able to log in using administrator (no password) as this is how it is shipped from the factory and no one ever changes it, from the administrator profile you can go to the users section and remove the password
