I'm currently on a 52ft sailboat in the English Channel and the weather is foul. I have one other person and my laptop to keep me company. Anyone else in my situation?

I live on a sailboat full time. And if you're in the English Channel in foul weather, you have my deepest sympathies. One of the things that Allied troops prayed for during the Normandy landings in 1944 was to get on dry land!

You can't be getting tossed around too badly, though, since you can still actually USE the laptop and you aren't throwing up on it. This is something we sailors all know from loooong experience (every minute seems like an hour when you're seasick).

Good luck to you, and may you have fair winds and following seas soon.

Sitting in the salon of my sailboat on San Francisco Bay. It is quite calm tonight very little wind and the temp outside is 50 deg F. 2 weeks ago it was warmer but the wind was steady at 40 mph with gusts to over 60 mph.

Yes but luckily its not me. I am sat in nice warm dry house near inverness having a refreshing sip on some wine. I have spent night on a small sailing boat and I don,t envy you at this time of year.

Good lord man is it not dangerous being out on such a small boat? I my self am on the lady wig bottom (300ft) in Monte Carlo drinking champers and entertaining young Lady's.
