It blows all the air through the defrost vents in the dash instead of straight out or on the floor when I change the selector knob to those areas. I also seem to have problems with my rpm's bouncing around when at idle and at cruising speed. Could this be a vacuum problem or something else? I just had new plugs and wires put in and new serpentine belt and idler pully. Any ideas?

Sounds like a vacumn leak to me...Could be a broken vacumn line from intake manifold . Did the selector knob work before you had the work done ???? If so , the mechanic might have created the problem....(used a bigger hammer than req'd !)

Uh Oh..... I just had my whole heater box replaced in my Durango.... all 3 doors were broken and my air blew out of everywheres no matter where I put the selector switch. It is vacuum activated, so make sure your engine is running good and strong and producing vaccum..... move the switch and listen closely to see if you can hear the doors opening or not. If they dont it is either the doors are stuck or the vacuum actuators are frozen. Take it to a mechanic.... it will be expensive.... sorry..... it cost me 1000 to have mine fixed.
