well I don't know if I want to stay with a 10-bolt or go to a 12 bolt rear end... if I stay with a 10 bolt can't I just change out the worm gear and carrier in my current pumpkin? Is 2.83 gear the best to go with or 3.74?

The weak link in the Camaro's power is that rear end. They are notorious for going bad. Any camaro owner will tell you, if you start adding power to the car, you have to change that rear end. That said, you can get a Moser 12-bolt for about 2,000 - 2,500, depending on where you get it.

Gear selection is a different beast. If you plan to drag the car, you should go with 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10's. If you want it to stay as a daily driver, I wouldn't recommend going higher than the 3.73's.

summit racing has positraction units that will bolt right into your rearend, you will just have to find someone experienced to change it for you, it's just the punkin part not the complete rearend like I think you are talking about.
