All I know is that the infection rate has doubled among blacks in the US. A lot of it is a 'class' issue because the black community still has more problem with being poor, getting proper health care and drug addiction. Black men have more problems with IV drug use than black women. It's one possible reason.

The whole 'down low' thing is a problem because being gay isn't as acceptable in the black community as it might be in others and black men end up infecting their wives because they are still in the closet. That problem seems to be the reason more black women are getting infected lately.

Your answer is contained on that website. It is because the male-to-male sexual contact is so high so it continues to spread to more men then it would to women. Most HIV and AIDS is spread through homosexual practices so thats is it, obvious answer. The reason why so many black men, is because there is little knowledge about the danger in African American society and very few people want to help the situation, so it just keeps on spreading.
