Well I spend all of my day with my children, I get house cleaning done during naps and after they go to bed, I try to get at least 1 hour a day to myself (usually after they go down for the night)

I spend as much time as possible with the kids, yes PLAYING! But I also get everything around the house done too. OK, so the floor isn't swept perfectly but little Johnny and I had a tremendous amount of fun doing it together and you can make household chores a chance to teach responsibility and accountability. Your infant is only an infant ONCE...the dirty dishes, laundry, dusting and scrubbing that will be there for your lifetime. Enjoy the precious moments while they last...as time goes by much too fast when they are little. It seems like just yesterday my now 8 year old was still cutting teeth and learning how to walk. Best wishes to you mommy!

I'm gonna be honest some days I don't do some of that. Usually I play with the babies anytime they are awake and handle cleaning and showers and stuff like that when they are napping. For the first two weeks I generally try to get help around the house and if it's not available it gets a little neglected. As to taking care of myself thats what grandparents are for but for the firts few years i didn't even take care of myself at all. Basically know what you need a want to do everyday and try to plan a little around the babies sleeping schedule. Don't put too much pressure on yourself though it will just make things worse.

How old is your baby? Just know that the first 3 months are kindof a blur. Spend as much time as you can multi-tasking. What helped me is putting the baby in a bjorn while doing laundry and making beds, etc. Putting the baby in a bouncy seat while cooking/cleaning in the kitchen. This way the baby can watch you and you can still play and talk and interact. Also, the bouncy seat is a gift for getting a quick shower in too. I'd put my girls in it, in the bathroom, and peek out "peek a boo" style once they started to fuss. Take walks w/the baby in a sling. They'll sleep and you get some quiet time walking.

Make it a priority for your husband to do his share of baby time, so you can do things by yourself. Also, join a mom's group with babies the same age. It is so nice to have other women to talk to who are going through the same thing you are going through! Good Luck! (And it's true this precious time passes too quickly!)

I would say depends on how old your baby is. If he or she is still a new born try to find a way to get the house work done when they take a nap during the day that's the best time to get the house work done. Then when you put them down for the night try to make some time for yourself.

Time for yourself is rare. But worth the sacrifice for your kids. Housework, I do what I can when I can. I play with my kids when they show signs of needing my attention. If that means three hours a day then so be it. If its 10 hours a day so be it. It does vary from a day to day basis. I have an 8 year old and a 9 month old. There is no manual that tells you how much or when. As a parent you know how to read the signs of your child to give them what they need and when to stop playing when they get tired.

If its your first :sleep when they sleep, play when they are awake, don't worry about having a super clean house and make sure you get time to yourself when ever you can!!! Babies grow so quickly and with work cleaning etc. it really does fly by what matters is you~cherish this time.. Before your 'baby" is 7 lol!!

now that i work, i only get to spend about 1 hour playing, and the rest on housework etc... One thing that really helped me was www.flylady.net It has lots of info on getting time for yourself and pacing the housework so it does not overwhelm you, This makes a huge difference if you really give a genuine attempt! Hope this helps!

Time for yourself happens when child naps.
Play whenever.
I clean and do house work while having child in a seat with me. I talk and play games while doing my work.
