about this? What does it mean? Is someone trying ID theft? I do not know if they penetrated my defenses. This has me concerned.
The addresses I was scanned from are 204.16.209.159 and
204.16.209.160.

Those aren't udp assigned ports, just for app conversations. Usually this is common to be scanned, no worry unless it constantly happens.

The first IP is still online, while the second is off. More than likely it was somebody port scanning your IP. What port scanning does is it searches your IP for open ports, which can lead to vulnerabilities. After doing a port scan on their IP (funny how that works ain't it?) I learned that you were scanned by a Windows powered server (not home computer.) I think that you're safe and that it might have been accidental, especially seeing as UDP ports usually aren't where vulnerabilities are. Hope this helped =)

Edit: They also have Symtantec (or however you spell that) firewall installed on their system. If this happens again and again with the same IPs then I would suggest going to your ISP, and from there you could switch your IP.

No. You can't stop it. That is why a firewall is so important and a good router can't hurt either. Some sap is running a program randomly searching the IP's and desperately trying to find a open port so they can use you as a proxy server or, hack you and install something funny bad. Keep the firewall turned on. You can turn off the messages so you don't see them. Frankly, it will drive you insane.

Relax, it is just your firewall doing the job that is supposed to do.

Hell, most people get hundreds of unsolicited "port scans" a day.

As long as you have a firewall working and never ever disable it for even a minute, then you will be fine!

there are a lot of computers using automated software to find loopholes or open ports in a computer in a network or on the internet. You will see hundreds of message every hour or so. As your firewall is able to detect it, should not be a concern

your firewall stopped the scans so it is nothing to be worried about, it shows your firewall is working, I have a firewall that shows port scans nearly every day but im not worried because my firewall is stopping anything getting through
