Actually if you have the flu and you have an upset stomach, chicken noodle soup isn't the best you can eat. The noodles have a lot of fat in them and that can cause your stomach to be more upset.

Chicken noodle soup does make you feel better! Opt for the home made kind whenever possible.Lipton Chicken noodle soup is the next best thing because it is made with real broth! Also, try a little hot tea with lemon, honey and whiskey. I hope you feel better!

Any type of warm soup makes me feel better when i have the flu, Ive actually been sick all of this week, & I had some noodle soup.

The jury is out on why, but it is a proven aid in helping recover from the flu. Perhaps its the heated liquid that helps the throat, or the salty chicken stock that seems to offset a fever. I've always added a splash of Tabasco to kick it up a notch.

Well, for me it does. I think it is because of the warmth of the soup and broth. However, sometimes when you have the flu, you don't feel like eating anything.

Yes, for a variety of reasons. The heat clears your head. The liquid helps prevent dehydration. And, although I don't understand the details, there is some kind of chemical similar to the triptophan in turkey that makes you sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner. Or maybe it is triptophan also. It promotes rest.
