Good older bands would be Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Baise, Woody Herman, Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, and The Dorsey Brothers. For modern Swing try Cherry Popping Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Royal Crown Revue, and Brian Setzer Orchestra.

The swing music I know about was composed and played by the likes of (in no particular order):
Glenn Miller
Benny Goodman
Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey
Sammy Kaye
Duke Ellington
Count Basie
Artie Shaw
I'm sure there were others, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
