Spirits are theoretically not limited by physical bounds such as gender; but a spirit which has occupied a body for some time is likely to be imprinted with a sense of being that gender long after leaving it.

I agree that a spirit needs flesh and bone to recreate, however, I still believe that spirits have gender.

When their task is complete, the Lord calls the spirit home and it is reissued in a new child taking on its gender.

I agree. We are spirit in a human body.Spirit is an energy that lives forever. And I dont believe our spirit needs a gender only the body does to procreate.

I'm with April Showers on that. When a person - or animal - passes on, they are "spirit survivors." The spirit isn't contanied to just one. It's like each piece is joined by others before it meets its new host.
