I am just wondering if college is being pushed on alot of people that dont even want to go. Alot of schools make you have a 2.5 or else they take away financial aid, but that is rediculous that is getting 2 c's and 2 b's per semester, and still people fail to be able to accomplish this task. Also is a college degree worth as much as it used to now adays. I mean it seems that just about everyone is getting one? So is a college degree going to be equivalent to a high school degree one day?

Should some people just go to vocational school. Also what does it mean to graduate with a degree in something, for example if you graduate with a degree in biology, what does that mean that you are a biologist, or that you just took some biology classes and know that parts of the cell? What does it mean to graduate with a liberal arts degree? your a liberal? I just dont get it.

Children dont usually go to college answer #2, but some act like children, which would further strengthen my argument that college is just not for everyone.

of course it should be accessible to every one. but not everyone should attend. some people just arnt cut out for university or college. It should also be taken very seriously if one goofs off and is not there to learn and treats it like a vacation kick there *** out and let someone who is willing to put in the work in their place.
question 2 that could quite possibly be when my parents went to school alot of people only have grade 8-10 education when i went to school needed that grade 12 and today it does seem that one needs to further their education to get any where. whether you go to university or college or trades school. also my generations school work was harder and more in-depth then my parents. look where technology and the ages are taking us.
where i live good luck at getting any job if you do not have grade 12. and even the jobs you get with just a grade 12 level do not pay the bills. unless of course one luck out and gets a job working for a union or the city. jeeze even janitors today need to get a ticket for the chemicals they use.

You are right, as more and more people get college degrees then it becomes required for anyone to get a job. I think that it is just some way of making the world raise to a higher standard. Also a way for us to spend more money towards colleges and universities.

However, as jobs keep being exported out of the U.S. then we will have no use for strongly educated people here because huge companies will just be based in other countries. We will all be doing people service jobs and not need such expensive titles gained by college.

But you cannot take away the rights of people to get higher education either. So, it is a teeter-totter of what is really right or wrong.

It makes sense for colleges to admit people who are able to keep up with the academics- whether it's through being naturally "smart" or hard work, the proof is in the grades. Yes some people should definitely choose vocational school! Even people with high IQ's are sometimes happier working in the trades, and many trades have a shortage of skilled people. It doesn't hurt to have some of both types of education. A "liberal arts" education from college or university (with or without completing a degree) expands your view of the world and teaches you how to think independently.

Oddly enough with your rather ill-framed and decidely badly expressed question you've provided your own answer. In fact many people would be far better served to put their energy into making a living right out of high school. I know fellow installing vinyl siding and he's pulling in 100K a year by busting his rear. I know a pile of college grads moaning about no good jobs and pulling in 20K or so. I guess they're smarter than my pal but he's got better stuff....

Yes, it should be assessable to everyone. No child left behind--or haven't you heard.
this question makes me say HMMMMM what kind of perosn are you.

I think maybe you should have went too. You misspelled the word Accessable. I have a grandchild who can do college work and he's in the
5th grade. Oh yes, he's definitely going to be someone great after the
college.
