Well, Goths and Emos do get a long but no with Punks. They don't get along because they hav completely different personalitys. But all three of the people hate Preps, because they act to happy for them and they're not into being popular and as trendy.

they don't all hate each other. this is a HUGE stereotype, even though in many cases it's true that the groups don't all get along.

punk, horrorpnk and hardcore kids get along fine together... even though i don't think i'd classify horrorpunk as a whole different subculture from punk. these kids all like about the same music...most times kids who like punk don't only listen to punk but also oi!, hardcore, sometimes even ska.

goth and emo kids also get along together for the most part. their music has a similar sound and they tend to be more emotional and introspective as a group compared to the punk and hardcore kids. of course, i don't know much about emo/goth music becaise i am not into that scene...somebody else could probably do a better job explaining this part than i could.

but definitely for the most part punk kids and emo kids DO NOT get along. the punk kids get pissed at the emo kids for giving punk a bad name, since many emo kids classify the music they like as punk, when it most certainly is not. punks do not want to be grouped with emos and so there is resentment there.

and they do not all shop at the same places. goth, emo, punk, horrorpunk and hardcore all have their own distinct unique styles. now that stores like hot topic are gaining popularity, many of the goth and emo kids wear those clothes (like Tripp NYC, etc). but they still generally stick to their own style. emo is more clean-cut (polo shirts, skinny jeans) goth is more gothic (lace, corsets)... most punk kids don't shop at hot topic and other stores like that and prefer DIY clothing and shopping at slavation army where they can pick up clothes for much cheaper. same goes for hardcore kids.

Hate, my dear, is a universal emotion, and is felt by all people. People are easily prone to succumb to such emotions, and because of this, its easy to relate to. Some people can't get over it, and they dwell on their hate, letting it fester and grow inside them. They accept it, and instead of getting over it, they embrace it, and use it as a tool to fuel all that which they do. Its a very easy way to get by, but because it uses dark emotions as a base, it creates hostility and makes people like that seem evil and twisted. Where they shop has nothing to do with it. Misery loves company, as they say. The popularity of such generations just goes to prove it. Its the direct result of people fixating on anger.

Because they're stupid. Anyone that classifies themself into a certain group (i.e. punk, emo, goth, prep) is probably just a kid and has nothing to do with their time than hate other people anyway. Wait a few years when they're adults, they won't care anymore b/c they'll have to worry about real things that matter.
