how would i go about marketing a game??

my husband and i made up a game. we think it's worth trying to market, but we have no idea how to go about it.

first of all ...don't go to the patient office...that will leave you open to thieves ! find a trust worthy partner.....how ? I don't know ...be cautious...China will steal it from ya and mass produce it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
