No anti-virus is even close to being 100% effective. An anti-virus should be your last line of defense.

It is time to look at just what YOU are doing to keep getting your computer infected all the time.

Is your Windows up to date with ALL Windows critical updates and patches from Windows Updates? A computer that is not updated is a huge target for malware.

Are you stealing lots of "stuff" using Limewire or another P2P file sharing program? P2P file-sharing filed with viruses, trojans , worms, and spyware.

Do you ever open e mail attachments from people that you don't even know? Opening attachments is a big source of viruses and worms.

Do you use a good firewall and never disable it for even a single minute?

Do you never lower you browser security settings even if a web-site or a game won't render or play correctly?

Do you never download free screensavers, smilies, icons etc. This "stuff" that is always advertised as free is often loaded with spyware and adware. Just stop and think, why would someone pay to advertise something that they are giving away free. There has to be a "catch" and that "catch" is malware.

No offence but it's time to look in the mirror and see just what YOU are doing to get your computer so infected with malware.

Many people go YEARS with out getting viruses etc. and there Norton NEVER finds a thing to clean.

Norton is a very good anti-virus app, but it cannot and was not designed to work miricles.

Good luck!

I can tell you that I use AntiVir Personal Edition. It's a free program, but it runs circles around Norton and McAfee. I have been using it on my home computer for several years, and also use it on my work computer. I have NEVER had a virus since I started using this program. I also recommend using Spy Bot: Search and Destroy to eliminate adware and spyware. You can get both programs free at www.majorgeeks.com under the Antivirus software tab. You can't go wrong with either of these programs. They will clean stuff out of your computer that you didn't even know you had in there...

I think you should reinstall the program, because Norton is a great antivirus, I have it and it works good to me. But if you're not convinced get the Mcafee, I had it until my subscription expired. Honestly, I miss the Mcafee, but I decided to install Norton because a friend of mine had the installation cd, and the suscription to mcafee was going to be a little expensive. But really, if you can, get mcafee.

Hmmm well I've had norton antivirus and I've gotten a lot of virues and norton doesn't catch them, so I got Kaspersky Anti-Virus it works great and it will catch every virus (as far as I know).

If you would like a free trial go to kaspersky.com
The free trial is 30-days and kaspersky is a great anti-virus

Maybe they doen't have the virus sample yet so they didn't include the code in their AV database. Send the virus to them or wait for 3-4 days. If not, then just use another AV product. Some of them are free for personal use.

norton antivirus is not designed to "clean" your computer. it is designed to guard against unauthorised hacking and portal entry into your pc. when properly installed norton will moniter all traffic coming into the pc and reject spyware/trojans etc. if your pc is still getting unwanted virusus etc then norton may have to be re-installed (has it been registered using the product key??). i have norton internet security and i would never run my pc without it.
