This may be a little gross.. My nose is really stuffed up right now (I can't even breath through it) and when I blow it, it's just air. It relieves the pressure for maybe 30 seconds and then it's stuffy again. Is there anything else I can do? (I don't have any kind of medicine in the house)

the best thing that i do is use nasal spray.. it works wonders and i don't know how i would survive without it! 2 squirts in each nostril and my nose is open for at least 8 hours. i just keep using it until i am better. i also use advil or tylenol cold & sinus medication.

If the hot shower steam feeling does not last, try nasal irrigation/lavage over your sink. You need a 1/4tsp salt, some warm (not hot) water, and a cup and a small bulb syringe. Basically, you're rinsing out your nasal cavity with saline solution. The Mayo Clinic video version on this was really helpful for me. A variation of this could be done with a neti pot (ayurvedic), if you're into that.

Sometimes it's just allergies or a sinus infection. Take a hot bath or a hot shower, or turn the bath on and let the water steam so you can inhale it. Or, you can always suck on a coughdrop/mint/chew a piece of gum -- the menthol or just the "icy cool" will relieve you of the stuffiness.

Go take o HOT shower, or just turn on the hot water and stand in the bathroom, the hot air will usually help.
