i've always wondered how do they know that they are catching the right bus? the dog cant read the number.how do they know when to get off the bus? how do they know what food they are buying in supermarkets? like you say its not an ignorant question,but one that many people would like to know the answers to.blind people are so vulnerable,i always wonder if they ever get short changed in shops.the reason i've mentioned what i have,is because i have seen blind people alone doing their shopping etc,but how?

Yes, I know a blind Evangelist that has the Bible in braille. The main draw back is the size of the Bible braille I believe is one sided and large so to make reading easier.

Firsty, it is an ignorant, because the literal definition of ignorance is to lack knowledge of something.
It's perfectly obvious that their dogs show them where the signs are.
Kidding aside, look at the paving around town, for eg. see the little bumps on the pavement near a zebra crossing? Blind ppl feel those and know they can cross there.

I've wondered that - like on buses where it's written 'PUSH', and next to it there is braille. I suppose blind people know that they need to look for certain things in obvious places.

Good question, I think people next to them they tell them. Or its just one of those thing of big companies they try to look like they care about people.

I would imagine they would be told where to find it for example a waitress would say when giving them a menu with braile on it.
although i have seen a sign on a low doorway with mind your head written on it in letters and braile i guess you would read that one with your forehead
