I've been very pleased with the book that's used for 2 semesters at the school I go to. The authors are Larsen and Marx. It's one of the best textbooks that I've ever used.

I know this is going to sound absurd, but try "A Cartoon Guide to Statistics." I took an undergraduate minor in quantitative mathematics from MIT (many years ago) and found this book a few years ago - it provides some of the best explanations of statistics I have seen. It is not cartoons about statistics; it uses cartoon to explain statistics.

Statistics by Murray Spiegel, published by Schaum's Outline Series. Probably available in the college bookstore.
