I want to install a network card in my printer, is this an easy step or should I have Best buy or someone else do it. How do I know if it will take one. ?

First question is... why? If you want to share your printer, you could just buy a standalone print server, which are compatible with almost any printer with the appropriate port (USB or parallel versions available).

Second question is... Generally, only a BUSINESS-class printer, such as a regular LaserJet (not the personal ones) or a DeskJet Pro Series would even have such an option, if it's an HP. Other printer makers don't even offer such an option. So... what kind of printer DO you have?

Assuming your printer DOES have the slot available, it's pretty much open the cover (there should be some sort of door in the back), power off the printer, stuff the card in, tighten the screws, and secure the new cover (as you will have a new exposed network port). Then plug it in, turn it on, and run the config software to talk to the new print server. However, always consult your manual for actual operating details.
