It depends on where you want to be a firefighter, most volunteer forces do not require college. If you are looking to be a city, paid firefighter than they usually offer a technical course either at the Vo Tech or under the technical college at a local University.

Depending on where you are applying, you don't necessarily need any college, although there would be a lot of training once you were hired.

Inquire at wherever you are thinking of applying. Each locality has different requirements.
