Clean your clothes and your bed sheets. Get as much fresh air in your house as possible, air filters help. Take oodles of vitamin-C and plenty of water (keep your electrolytes up, pedialyte is AWSOME). Don't exert yourself any more than neccessary, and sleep as much as you can. Blow your nose instead of sniffiling it back up, and the steam from soup will help unclog your sinuses. Shower twice a day, and wash your hands a little more than usual. Good luck.

Try an old remedy that i swear buy and know works every time.
Make yourself a hot toddy buy putting some whisky, a slice of lemon and some cloves into a cup of hot water drink enjoy and feel better in the process.
Also fill a basin with hot steaming water add some Vic's vapour rub to it mix until Vic's dissolves then put a towel over your head and lean over the hot bowl of water. I can guarantee that you will be able to finally breath properly and it will set you up for the day or help you get a good nights sleep.
As for the sore throat believe me the best thing and the quickest cure is to gargle not swallow Port, it is a miracle cure and all the singers especially opera singer use it to cure soar throats quickly.

For a sore throat, try gargling warm salty water. For the cold, you can try boiling some fresh ginger root, put some of the ginger water in a cup, add some lemon juice and some honey and drink it. Ginger is good for the infection, the honey is supposed to sooth the throat and the lemon has vitamin c and fights bacteria.

The best remedy for a sore throat is to gargle with salt water. Salt is a strong antiseptic, more than any medicine you get in a chemist. As for your cold, there is no cure. Al you can do for that, is drink lots of fluids and fresh air. If you are staying in doors with a cold. the cold virus will get worse in a warm environment, thats why to get out in the fresh air helps to reduce this effect.

wow have i got the solution for you----- drink some tea. that stuff is the best i felt so much better as soon as i started drinking it. I used to hate tea but now i love it. i really like the Tazo tea- the one with the spearmint and peppermint. its really great and will totally get rid of the sore throat.
for the common cold i recommend drinking orange juice and lots of water. it will definitly go away if you're not doing anything that would make it worse- like being around tons of dust

the best way is to go see a doctor promptly. a doctor can determine if the sore throat is bacterial or viral. if it's bacterial an antibiotic will help. it it's viral any of the newer antiviral medications will help if you sought treatment soon after onset of symptoms. if it's just from a cold it's probably due to post nasal drip and an antihistamine will help because it will help to dry up your nasal secretions and give the soreness a chance to heal of it's own accord.

Drink orange juice everyday (freshly squeezed is better because you don't know what brands put in theirs) - lots of vitamin C, and improves your immune system. Most people don't know this but it is an essential fact- never have lemsip and strepsils before eating. This kills all bacteria (friendly, and harmful) reducing your defence system when you eat and there is nothing to kill the bacteria in the food, which will just make your sore throat worse.

to get rid of sore throat,. gargle with bactidol or with warm saline water for 1 whole minute.
common colds are viral. viruses are self-limiting in nature. when it's done its work, that's when ur cold will stop. we can't kill it pronto. what we can do is to increase our vitamin c intake so that we couldbuild up our resistance against further complications.
