My car turns on, all the lights work, all my doors work properly (they lock and unlock automatically), but the window doesn't work properly. It can go down to a certain distance but it refuses to go up, and when it does it's only by cm, at a time!! What can cause this problem and how can I fix it? Oh and where can I go too.

i own a repair shop, and it sounds like it may have a window motor burnt up on It,,this will make them barely roll up,and also a bad window regulator will do the same thing,,it puts the motor in a bind, and if the motor isn't bad now it will be if you keep trying to use it,you,ll have to check it to be sure ,,or have it done,,some of these can be tricky to repair,,good luck i hope this help,s.

The fact that the window does move indicates that the switch is working. It could be the motor inside the door that drives the window. I have a 93 ford thunderbird that had the same problem except the window wouldn't roll up unless I helped push the window up. Replacing the motor fixed the problem. However, noone can diagnose the problem for sure without being able to take a hands on look at the problem. Are you good mechanically, can you remove the door panel and get a look at the problem?

It could be the motor is getting weak or maybe the switch is going bad. You didn't say anything about the window being off track so I assume that is ok. Take it to a local body shop and they can fix you right up.
