I was just wondering if someone who has one could give me some tips and suggestions or the process of getting it pierced. I am thinking of getting one on my upper ear.. kinda like a cartlege piercing. And anyone that has pictures welcome. Thanks

Mine was pretty painful and easily prone to infection. In my opinion, all the trouble it caused me wasn't worth it. Eventually, I had to take it out and it left a bumpy scar.

You're going to have to make sure your ear has enough space for an orbital. Go to the professional piercer that you want have pierce you and get a consultation. If your ear is too small, it won't work.

I had mine horizontally done in my upper cartilidge and it gave me the most problems out of all my piercings (I've had 10). It is just hard to heal because it is cartilidge and because the holes are so close together. I've heard that industrials hurt more to pierce, but orbitals always take longer. That seemed to be the case with me and my roomie. Because they'll probably put a captive bead hoop in your ear, if you roll over in your sleep, pull a tight shirt over your head, run a comb by your ear, it'll just irritate it and could make it start bleeding again.

If you to this, make sure to get a lot of sea salt and start soaking at least once a week from the beginning and keep it up. It took me about a year and half before the stupid thing finally stopped getting infected. I kept it for about 4 years and don't really regret it. I have a small bit of scarring that would've been a lot less if I'd been more consistant with the sea salts. Good luck!
