I love it too, but I prefer plaice to cod. A bit of salt and loads of vinegar (pickled onion vinegar is delicious on it!) white bread and butter, so you can make a chip butty, and a huge mug of 'builder's' tea. Yum yum.

For the person who asked above, you won't be able to move for chippies in Blackpool, but a lot of them won't be brilliant, and in London go to The Seashell fish and chip shop in Lisson Grove in Marylebone. Any black cab with know where it is. They have a restaurant as well as a takeway.

Fried red snapper with chips and a lot of cat sup around the Easter holidays out at the Caye's. Nice sea breeze blowing through every strand of your hair. A nice cheese cake for dessert. A tall glass of light coke with ice to quench your thirst. Karaoke in the background.

What is better?

What's the basis for choosing best answer?

I think fish and chips are great. It's just too bad that here in USA it's not a primary/common dish, and most of it is average at best. AND, it's really hard to find malt vinegar to go with it outside New England.

Well I'm from California so it's hard to get good fish & chips here. I have to go to the beach although sometimes when the fair comes to town they have fish & chips in this little cup like a snow cone cup- tastes good to me- of course I'm the only one in my family who thinks so. (besides my father and grandfather (RIP) my grandfather was from Wales)

Love fish and chips - with the fish smothered in tarter sauce and the chips smothered in ketchup
