Well, smoking in your home,is your personal decision. However, if you smoke in public, around other people, they are affected by your smoke. Therefore, smoking in public is not part of your private life. It is an invasion of privacy to everyone else, because it affects their personal right to breathe in the immediate area they are in. And, if you have children in your home, then, yes, you do not have the right to pollute your own children. Maybe that is where it can affect your own privacy.

I read what ladyblue said and it's NOT just a simple cigarette. Cigarettes are killing alot of people. People that smoke and people that are exposed to secondhand smoke. How can she says it's a SIMPLE cigarette?? A simple cigarette is not just one but smokers mostly smoke 1/2 pack to a pack a day. That does a lot of harm to a young child especially when they are in a vehicle. I have seen people smoking in their car with babies and young children and it makes me sick. How can they put their kids at risk like that? Do they not hear the warnings and see the commercials?? It's one thing to hurt yourself but when you hurt innocent children that's another story. I'm glad they are trying to make it a law for people not to smoke in their cars. Good for them!

If it is anything like here in Arkansas, they will try to pass a law where you can't smoke in your car with kids in it. Even if you have your window down. I'm not a smoker myself but I think they are running things in the ground. Why don't they go after people who are on dope and harming children instead of griping about a simple cigarette?

i think it was a story about bangore (i forget which state either maine or massachusetts)...they passed a law that makes it illegal to smoke in ur car with a minor (anyone under 18)...so ppl/critics of the new law think it's taking away ppl's privacy to do wat they want in their car.
