How do you know if microphone working, after installation?

Just hooked up microphone to comp, did all it said. But how do you know if it is working. Need help please, and thank you

Try this:

1. Start
2. Accessories
3. Windows Sound Recorder (or something like this)

Open the program and start talking. The sound wave will show you if your computer is receiving your voice. Make sure that you go to control panel, sounds and audio devices, voice tab... Make sure your default voice program has your microphone brand selected.

You could try MSN Messenger or Yahoo! Chat and start talking to someone?
