gymnastics was an old Greek sport that was in the first Olympics if I am right. Golf is definitely Scottish, bball (basketball) is American, and skiing is Nordic.

basketball i believe was invented in Massachusetts. it might hav been Springfield, the home ot the NBA Basketball Hall of Fame. It was invented when people were playing around throwing balls in baskets they hung. golf was invented in Scotland i believe. it doesn't really relate but just so you know the name golf is an acronym for "gentlemen only ladies forbidden". its how they got the name
