I wouldn't pay full price for any 360 games, they aren't really worth it. I would rent any before you buy them.

Unless you get on Xbox live, you won't need a copy of Gears of War since it has a short rather boring single player mode.

I own a copy of Saint's Row. The Xbox answer to GTA. I also own a copy of Call of Duty 2 and Madden 06.

I thought Call of Duty 3 was a good game, and might buy it, but one rent of most games is good enough for me most the time.
If you get into the Elder Scrolls, that might be worth buying since it takes a long time to play through. I haven't played it myself, but it gets good reveiws.

For me I would have to say just stick with renting and then later buy the games you enjoy playing.
