LeBron, D-Wade, and Melo are always being talked about as the future of the NBA. Arenas is only 11 days older than Wade so he definitely should be included on that list. I understand he's been in the league two years more than Wade, but he is still the future. Before this year, he has pretty much been ignored and I'm glad he's finally getting the respect he has always deserved.

For everyone who keeps saying that it is because Arenas is on the Wizards...I don't know if you guys have noticed but they are in first place in their division and will definitly go to the playoffs as well...also I'm not trying to say Arenas is better than LeBron, Wade, or Melo...I'm just saying he should be mention in the same league as those guys

He does get respect, he just doesn't get exposure as a top notch NBA player. He is a front runner for the MVP as well he should be, but here is the problem with that. Everyone who votes for MVP is biased based on the team's successes. Dirk and Nash are the two top contenders for the award while Wade who hasn't proven himself as a leader in his championship defending year is right along side Arenas. My point is if Dirk was having the same year as Gilbert Arenas he would be a shoe-in for the award. If Arenas keeps playing well and the Wizards keep winning... I think Arenas will emerge as one of the big names in the NBA with those guys you mentioned originally.

Gilbert Arenas is the NBA's best player and he gets no respect because he is not a dunker, international player and was dissed by Kobe. Wade and Gilbert are 25. People say Wade is better because of that one nba ring on his finger but NEWSFLASH!!! He is nothing without Shaq. Pair Arenas with Shaq and the team will score 200 points every night. Wade is overrated. Wade is a hell of a player but he is not in Gilbert Arenas league. There are 2 guys that the NBA revovles around and it is Kevin Garnett and Gilbert Arenas. They are the best 2 players They are the heart of their teams.
PS- Caron gets no respect either.

Respect is earned in the playoffs, so his "lack" of respect is due to the Wizards' quaffs in the playoffs. Also, he is having a great half-of-the-season.....it'll take more and longer consistent play at this level for him to get the credit he probably deserves. True about the aforementioned players, but like you said, Arenas has been in the league longer.

It's really hard to get noticed when the media and the league focuses on the marquee players night in and night out.
Elton Brand is another great example.

People have started to take more notice of Arenas after what he did to Kobe and the defenseless Nash.

I'm trusting that the media and writers see that he is MVP worthy.

The Wizards dont advertise enough. Im all for team loyalty but I think that he should get his *** out of Washington after his contract is up and go to a higher profile team.

arenas, lebron are overrated.
lebron got good supporting cast. dont know why people say he dont. he had better people than iverson ever had in sixers in these recent years and people dissing iverson.
areanas is good but he is deserving the respect he needed already. his stats are smilliar to iverson's cept for the 3pts catagory. his assists are lower than AI too. and people are praising arenas and dissing AI.

well i agree this season he's had 7, 40 point and 3, 50 point games. plus he had those two game winning 3pt field goals. but the reason people don't talk about him as much as LBJ and Wade is his team isn't as good.
