Excellent question, the repuglicans had 6 years to screw things up and the democrats only have 2 years to straighten out the mess. Might as well get right to work, and she did. She is echoing the American people. Bush has only 28 percent of the American people that agree with his war strategy and many of the 72 percent that disagree are repuglicans. The American people have lost confidence in the presidents ability to lead. I think that Pelosi is right in fronting the president because of her stature in the congress. I am glad that she did.

I have about as much chance of getting the Best Answer vote from you on this question as the Pope has of winning a break dance contest.
Even Bush's detractors concede that, if there is one thing you can count on, Bush says what he means, and does what he says. He's not like John Kerry who shamelessly panders to the mercurial whims of public opinion.
You really, and I mean REALLY should read the book, "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy".
Here is an excerpt:
Nancy Pelosi has made supporting labor unions a cornerstone of her public career. Yet the vineyards and hotels that comprise her $35 million fortune have one thing in common: they don't use union labor.
This is so typical of the "limousine liberals" like Streisand and Pelosi. Why do you think the term "limousine liberal" packs such a punch? Easy answer: because the great majority of liberals are such stinking hypocrites.

If you were to analyze Pelosi's comments you would find that she is lying. She is using the unpopularity of the war to strengthen her own political power base.
She says the because Bush is adding 20,000 more troops to the 130,000 that are already there that those 20,000 will stop her from cutting off funds to the war effort. If Bush had just left troop strength at 130,000 then she would have cut off resources, but because Bush moved so quickly, that she couldn't cut the funds..... Think, this is not that hard. Pelosi is pulling the wool over your eyes.
There's no reason why the added troops to the war effort should make any difference to Pelosi. She is just as weak a politician as the rest of them.

wow you all blow my mind. None of you that I see who have answered this question so far have a clue as to who we are fighting. As much as I hate war this is one that we have to win in spite of Nancy Palosi and your obvious ignorance. I don't say that to put you down but folks we need to win this war against terror in the middle east, set up a free democracy in Iraq so future people have the choice between being a suicide bomber and living in peace. Look these Islamic fundamentally extrimists don't think like we do. We can't talk to them. they don't have the same value of life here on earth as we do. They are being duped by evil teachings! We need to stop them not ignore them like Palosi and the rest of the far left Democrats want to do. They arn't going to go away! I am kind of old and I may not see the total down fall of America but if you all continue falling for the far left liberals point of view I feel sorry for your future. The terrorists need to be crushed their will for fighting taken away! I have not heard any plan from Palosi or any Democrat to do this they think if they ignore them they will just go away, and with all my heart I wish this was true but it is not. Sorry for blasting you but you all are the next generation and need to wake up to reality. I'd hate to see you all eating donkey cooked over a camel dung fire in a concentration camp when the terrorists take over.

Pelosi and the dems are setting us up for another attack. She is giving no mind to homeland security, as such. We need a leader like Bush in times like these; one that doesn't lead by poll results and lobbyists concerns.

It is a political strategy, yes. The president is playing politics and basically telling the rest of Americans their thoughts and wishes are moot. He is going to show up the Democrats by sending in 21,000+ troops against their wishes, then when their funding is slow or non-existent he can blame the situation in Iraq on them.

Pelosi doesn't have sh it to say about the build up and neither do the democrats. The war machine is moving and it doesn't do reverse. So for now, Pelosi has time to schedule another face job, the last one's starting to wear off!

Hell no she won't. She's just farting off at the mouth trying to make herself look good (whoosh! that's an oxymoron) to the libtard press who kiss her gaping crevice with glee. She'll die with no friends, as libtards tend to do.
