I would rather be embarassed. If I were ashamed that means I did something to hurt someone in some way and I don't like to do that.

Embarrassed because that usually means an event that was an accident but ashamed means that you actively did something wrong or unacceptable.

I guess it would be embarrassed. It seem like ashamed it much harsher. I rather be red in the face then my tail between my legs.
