My husband thinks its ok to secretly record my my conversations with my friends because he wants to know whats wrong with me, we had an issue a few days ago, I was pissed and told him why, he wanted to go deeper into the issue and I didn't (you know how you just want to be left alone sometimes because talking will most likely make it worse). I called my friend the next day and vented to her about what happened and he heard it because he hid a tape recorder in the car, I agree I shouldn't have talked to my friend about it and didn't mean to hurt his feelings but he still thinks that recording me is OK, and has not admitted any wrong, YA help me out...pllllllleeeeaaaasssseee (I posted this again because I think the title killed my chance of getting a lot of responses)

It is WRONG for someone to record your conversation. And it's illegal. You had every right to vent to your friend. That's what friends are for. You're husband needs to suck it up and stop bugging you to talk about things you're not ready to talk to him about.

your husband is a jealous jerk, sorry but hes very wrong...I would find that tape recorder and break it into tiny little pieces...It did not hurt anything for you to vent to your friend, all women do this to their best friend...He probably vented too,but you did not tape him...As far as his feelings getting hurt, they should get hurt real bad just for taping you..It is not ok to secretly tape anyone,in fact it is not even used in court because it is unethical..I wouldn,t worry about it,i would feel his ear full everytime he secretly taped me...he will finally get tired of hearing how horrible he is,and quit taping you...

Wow, that's scary. He has some crazy issues. Tell him that one conversation has nothing to do with the other. Sometimes when you vent, you tend to over exaggerate, and after your done, you feel better. He should never invade your privacy that way.

It is a violation of your privacy for him to record you. You should check into the right to privacy act. He sounds insecure. Maybe you should ask him if he would like to be recorded. Most people that do the recording are the ones that have something to hide themselves.

The two of you obviously have major TRUST, PRIVACY, and COMMUNICATION issues that need to be discussed and dealt with. It may be a good idea to see a marriage counselor -- things like this can be very wearing on a marriage, and it may be helpful to have an unbiased party helping you out.

It is WRONG and he sounds like a control freak. This is not a good sign of mistrust. Can you live with someone who does not trust you?
Would he accept this behavior from you?

What a freak! You're still your own person, he doesn't own you, and you are entitled to your own thought and conversations.
Read him the riot act. Next time it's bye bye!
