is it common in states for a magistrate to take a week to give decision lol and what takgin that long might imply

the case in question is a custody case
complaint being neglect adn interference in visitation, not keeping non residential parent informed of anythign

Sorry to say its common for it to take a lot longer than a week. My own custody battle in court from start to finish took nearly 9 months and then2 weeks before a final decision was made. It is necessary so the correct decision is made, for the childs sake so bare with it and fingers crossed you get what you want!

Yes, that's common. The magistrate will consider your case, and then file his decision to the court clerk. It may take a few days for this to get into the system. Call the clerk's office and ask for the result when the magistrate ordered.
