Young Adult romances...I'd say a Great and Terrible Beauty-it's not really a romance, but it's set in Victorian England and is just a really cool book. I love Twilight and New Moon as well-good books.
If you're looking for "older" romances, I'd try Pride and Prejudice-classic, but really brilliant. It is so much better than the movie, by the way. Another good one is Wuthering Heights-slightly depressing, but it's the only book I ever read for English that was remotely interesting, so it has to be good. There's a couple more that I should put down, but I can't remember what they are. Hope you find some good books!

I hope you will move on to books with more meat--such as the classics. My favorites are
Paradise Lost--John Milton
Jane Eyre--Charlotte Bronte (it's a romance novel)
The Divine Comedy--Dante
The Picture of Dorian Gray--Oscar Wilde
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn--Mark Twain
To Kill a Mockingbird--Harper Lee
anything by Edgar Allan Poe (poet)
Don Quixote--Miguel de Cervantes
Mrs. Dalloway and a Room of One's Own--Virginia Woolf
and many, many more
You must read actual literature instead of what is in the teens section. Expand your mind. Expand your world.

Young adult romance? Sweetie, you must be young, but THANK YOU for being a reader. Okay, when I was eleven I read "Wuthering Heights," by Emily Bronte. Unbelievable moment for me. You want romance? Read the real thing. "Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier is another great romance book.
Don't read contemporary crap.
MY favorite books. Oh, that's hard. Really hard. "The Great War and Modern Memory" by Paul Fussell really changed my life and interests forever. I LOVED "Portrait of a Lady," by Henry James. And Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment" scared the P_$$ out of me.

The best-written, truly profound and fascinating book I've ever read is (this is so typical but SO true)............... Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. It's amazing. It covers human nature, religion, politics, social status, sin, love, everything is in this book. It's a long read though. Over a thousand pages in small print. Another good one, another classic is "The Yearling" It's nostalgic and light and about coming of age like "To Kill a Mockingbird". Unfortunately I cried like a lost child in a department store while reading the end. And i seriously do NOT cry easily. I don't cry at movies and i don't cry at funerals, but this book made me cry.... HARD.

Young Adult Romance...
well, there's "Arm of the Starfish" by Madeleine L'Engle. <33333333
All her books are phenomenal! They're mostly sci-fi, but she weaves some romance into them now and then.
Another great aouthor is Ann Rinaldi. She writes historical fiction novels about girls growing up in the times of America's great wars (Revolutionary, Civil, etc.) and although her heroines are generally independent-minded and strong on their own, some of her books are very romantic as the girls fall in love with fellow spies, soldiers, etc. Sarah's Ground is a good book by Rinaldi, as is The Fifith of March (girl falls in love w/soldier involved in Boston Massacre)
Enjoy!! <3

I don't know of any modern romance novel. I've read Barbara Cartland novel when I was young and I thought her novel was so romantic. But the best book I've ever read was the Gift of Acabar by Og Mandino. It's an inspirational book.
