You can get pregnant on birth control anytime. I was on the patch for about 5 months and got pregnant. There are women that have been on the pill for years and then oops, they're pregnant. Birth control is not 100% effective.

YES! You can absolutely get pregnant while on birth control.. If you take any medication while on the pill or switch to a different kind of birth control your chances of getting pregnant go WAY up.. Birth control pills are only like 99.6 or 99.8% effective anyway so there is always a chance.. IF your doctor prescribes antibiotics for you, and you take the pill, you better use additional protection. You need to use additional protection for atleast a month to a month and a half anytime you start a new birth control pill or take any kind of prescription medicine.. Also if you think for one second that you could've possibly done something that could increase your risks of becoming pregnant you need to get the Morning After Pill, you can take the pill up to 72 hrs after having an "accident"! Talk to your OB/GYN about any questions you have concerning the birth control method that you have chosen.. I can guarantee that the doctor has at one time or another answered any questions that you might have for someone else.. One more thing, ask about other birth control methods, they have long term methods available that last anywhere from 2-10years..

Birth control is 99% effective, but /only/ if with "perfect use", meaning you take it every day at the exact same time. If you don't it's knocked back down to 83%, significantly raising your chances of getting pregnant. Also, if you started the pill within five days at the end of your period it will be immediately effective. However, if you start at any other time it will take at least a month for it to be 99% effective, and that's still with "perfect use". My suggestion is to regularly check to see if you're pregnant, or at least get a test done if you're seeing signs or having doubts.
There is a lot more information about birth control at the source listed below.
Also keep in mind if you're having doubts about using birth control that there are a lot of advantages to taking it, and it's more effective than a condom in that a condom is more likely to slip or break, and is more prone to improper use.

Sweetie, you definately can get pregnant on birth control, reguardless as to how long you have been on it.Birth control isnt 100% effective, and there is always that small percentage that does become pregnant even while on birth control. Not only can you get pregnant, but you can also contract numerous std's.You need to be educated about intercourse before you engage in it.You need to be educated that there is no safe time to have sexual intercourse,no matter how far or near you cycle is.No matter whether you are on birth control,or you use condoms or another form of protection. There is always a chance,it may be a small percentage slimmer, but it is still there. Both of those are life changing experiences. If you are not prepared for a child, ready for a child, wouldnt consider your partner to be the father of your child "If" you should become pregnant,do not have intercourse with them. Please, educate yourself about sexual activities and its risks before you engage in it.That moment of pleasure isnt worth throwing what is supposed to be the most carefree part of your life over.Abstinence is the only 100% full proof protection.Good luck hun and have a good night.

You have to remember that birth control is usually like 99% effective. So there is a one percent chance you could get pregnant. Say you have sex 100 times, one out of those 100 you "should" get pregnant. Understand? The kid I babysit was actually concieved while his mother was on birth control.

yes, it is very possible, It takes a few months of taking the pill before it really works, and if you even miss one day of taking them, you are more at risk of getting pregnant than someone who doesn't take the pill at all, remember that even if your body is well adjusted to the birth control, it is not 100% effective, you should still be cautious, and use condoms

You can absolutely get pregnant on the pill. You and your partner should use condoms every time anyway.

Honey, one thing you will learn is that almost anything is possible when it comes to getting pregnant. A very good friend of mine had her tubes tied and her husband was "sniped" and they got pregnant again. The sure way to try and reduce the risk of pregnancy is either abstinence (which I couldn't deal with) or maybe doubling your contraceptives. Condomns and spermacide maybe?
