Getting fired from the job of your dreams... --- I think that is worse than seeing people get the job of your dreams. You can just convince yourself that those who get the job of your dreams are just luckier and that the right time for you to get that job has not come yet. But being fired means you blow it, you got the job already just didn't do your best or they find you not competent enough after hiring you.

if someone else gets the job its alright because you still have a shot at it, but if you're fired then their may not be any cards left in the deck for a trick.

watching someone else get the job of ur dreams.
at least with getting fired you have had the chance/opportunity to work your dream job.
but seeing someone else- that leads to jealousy-- and that can make things even worse.
