They just pay an entry fee, and they're each given an equal amount of chips to play with.

the poker tournements that r on tv the cost 10,000 bucks in real life money and then u get 10,000 bucks worth of poker chips and when u finsh u turn in ur poker chips and u get how much u have worth of poker chips
