La'Shaun and Shanika sound black. Blake sounds white. Since you like mixed sounding names, why dont you go with one which will not identify them with just one race so they will not be stereotyped either way.

My picks are Tyann or Ava
and Shaun. without the La

I would personally choose ( for a girl ) the names Ava and Kaleasha and ( for a boy ) Kayden and La'Shaun .

Girl - Cordelia , Dorien , Eidothea , Irvetta , Kailani , Leucothia , Marinella , Maritza , Devaki , Abigail , Hannah , Sydney ;

Boy - Dyllan , Lamar , Marvin , Murchadh , Norberto , Pontious , Toru , Zale , Adrian , Michael , Alexander , Colin ;

P.S. If you would like any other names you could go to the site : www.babynamestats.com ( , there you can find a name for your baby on almost any meaning and origin and there are also some tips for baby naming / naming the baby. )

I like Ava and Kayden but they arent really unique. My sons name is Caden ( I thought it was unique when I named him that 19mo ago but we hear it all the time). For unique names on your list I like: Tyann and Jahnel. My ideas: Girl - Tatianna.

As far as the boys names go: a boys name should be strong - a name that starts with "La" doesnt seem very strong to me
