I think a child that comes from parents who have a loving relationship most definitely have a better chance of having the same kind of relationship.

The parents have taught by example what it is like to have a successful marriage and I think the children would then not settle for less.

No, I can't say it guarantees you will have a similar loving marriage.

I would say that you should take all the good things that you have learned from watching your parents and try to incorporate them into your marriage. Their relationship should be used as a model of what can be.

Nevertheless, everyone is different and it takes honesty, trust, understanding, communication and a whole lot of love to make a marriage work. It has to be given equally.

NO.There is only ONE guarantee in life and that is that one day you will die.Now the fact that your parents had a loving marriage that lasted you have a very good chance that you have learned the important morals & values and you have been taught by very good example of how a marriage should be.Good Luck to you.

No, that is not a guarentee. Every relationship is different. My parents have had a long & happy marriage for 28 years... my bf's parents got divorced when he was 5. So what does that have to do with us? We are not them! I can't predict what our marriage would be like based on that history. Instead... we're going to make our own history ;-)

There are no guarantees but it does help if your parents set a good example.
