I'm a believer that once you say something bad to someone, you can't "take it back".... and if they say "I take back what I said" they're not the kind of person I want to deal with... does anyone else feel this way?... or is it better to just forgive and forget?... It's easy to forgive, but hard to forget what they said.... especially in a relationship.... are you okay with this?... thanks for your input and opinions...

I completely agree with you. The person should think about what they say before they say it. You can't just "take it back". People should think before they either disclose important information or say something offensive to the listener, because they can't just pull it out of the ears of the person they're speaking to. Whenever I accidentally spill something, I clear it up with a quick, witty comment. I've never really disclosed any information that can hurt myself or others.

I guess it really depends on the situation. I hate to admit that sometimes I say things in the heat of the moment but I don't mean them but it hard to just say "Hey I take back what I said". Of course it is easy for them to forgive but they will never forget. I know because my husband will bring it up everytime even though I try hard to think about what I am saying before actually saying especially in the heat of moment. I hope this helps.

I think it really depends on the situation. Personally I would hope that someone would extend me some grace, because I have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth at times. I never try to say anything to hurt anyone but, sometimes things will slip out. I dont know if I am making any sense. God I love you Y! Answers. Its so great to be able to express yourself.

Sorry rambling.
Peace.

It depends on what you said and who you said it to. Sometimes it's possible to forgive, hardly ever to forget. Need to learn to think before speaking...

i do let them take it back, but only if the situation has changed, if someone says something based on "half" info, then based on new info "take it back" i let them, i also have a tendancy of proving people wrong. so they have to take things back a lot.
