Does anyone know the meaning or origin of the song Blessed by Elton John. I heard that it was a song by Elvis about Lisa Marie, but he never got a chance to sing it. The I heard somewhere else that it was a song written for a baby that Elton John almost had but it was born still born. I am a bit confused as to the origin if someone knows please answer.

That's a really great song, I love it! It definitely sounds like it was written for an unborn child. Elton John never had any children, but his songwriter Bernie Taupin does (born in 2005, so that doesn't add up). Maybe Elton and Bernie wrote the song for one of Elton's ten godchildren. I think that is the most reasonable explanation.
