You can say all you want about how bad Bush is...and how he is just to trigger happy and doesn't care about the "civilians" in Iraq. But did you know it was a DEMOCRAT, that actually nuked Japan?
Not once but twice. I'll afraid we'll get into a nuke war if a Dim, (sorry, Dem) get's into the white house. Atleast a Republican has never nuked anyone. Not once, let alone twice.
What do you think?

Its funny that the liberals care so much about "civilians" in Iraq now, when they didn't care when Saddam was slaughtering them. It's all political, they only care when they can use their deaths for political reasons, obviously. As soon as we run away from Iraq like we did Vietnam (if their hopes come true), will they care if millions die as a result of the chaos? These are the same liberals that refused to support our allies in southeast asia when the communists moved in and killed 3 or 4 million of them. All they could think about is how our intervention in Vietnam was wrong because "war isn't the answer".

I would like to add a little more to the story of a democrat ordering the dropping of nuclear weapons on Japan . Quite unlike Iraq , the Japanese attacked the United States on our own soil . During our battle with the Japanese specifically the battle of Okinawa , the Japanese lost 100,000 -125,000 men and the lives of
72 ,000 Americans were lost also . It was determined that an invasion of the Japanese homeland would have cost the lives of many times more than whom died in the battle for Okinawa . In comparison the bomb dropped on Hiroshima killed 140,000 when dropped August 6 , 1945 and after dropping leaflets asking for Japans surrender August 8, 1945 ( by the way the leaflet campaign had already lasted a month prior) Japan still refused surrender . Then on August 9 , 1945 the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki killing an additional 74 ,000 Japanese . They had been warned to surrender prior to this , not only by a month long leaflet dropping campaign but also by radio Siapan Broadcast to the Japanese people . They had an opportunity to stop and surrender and refused the opportunity . The dropping of these bombs saved a great deal more Japanese lives and American lives than would have been lost if the United States had to resort to a ground invasion of Japan . If we look back only to prior to the November elections , we were fighting insurgents in Iraq and as soon as the elections were over Bush began calling the insurgents Al Quaida members , prior to that they were just insurgents . As president Bush’s stories change almost daily as the truth comes out , his credibility has become a sick joke to the vast majority including his own party . He is now a man unto himself unwilling to listen to military experts nor the American people . I have nothing to add in his defense .

Your all a bunch of freaking idiots and really need to read more. The Democrats really didn't become the modern "liberal" party it became today until the nomination of Hubert Humphrey in 1968 and took on a anti-war persona. Prior to this the Democratic party was seen as the party of extremes, left or right. However from 1948 onward the Democratic party began hemorrhaging southern conservatives because the Dems took over as the champions of civil rights which had been held by the GOP since the civil war. This wasn't solidified until Nixon conceived of his "southern strategy" hence focusing the GOP on southern whites dissatisfaction with black integration. The following is an expert from Wikipedia;
The Dixiecrats were a white supremacist splinter-party of the Democratic Party in the mid-20th century who were determined to protect what they saw as the southern way of life against an oppressive United States federal government.

"The term Dixiecrat is a portmanteau of Dixie, referring to the Southern United States, and Democrat, referring to the United States Democratic Party. Initially, it referred to a splinter from the party in the 1948 U.S. presidential election: for over a century, white Southerners had overwhelmingly been Democrats, but that year many bolted the party and supported Strom Thurmond's third-party candidacy for president of the United States. The emergence of the solid Democratic South followed the end of Reconstruction Period when the then Republicans used the post-Civil War period to help African-Americans emerge from slavery and secure their political and voting rights. When white Southerners reclaimed political control in the late 1800s with the aid of organizations like the Ku Klux Klan and the lynching of black activists, the region gave its political allegiance to the then Democratic Party."

Democrats, Republicans and all others breathed a sigh of relief when Harry S. Truman ordered the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan thus bringing to a close the bloody war in the Pacific and ending WW 11. Do you have a problem with that?

And your point is what?

That a Democrat was in office when the war needed to be ended, and save a few hundred thousand GIs in an invasion of Japan? This is a bad thing?

BTW - A democrat did NOT start the Vietnam war. It was Eisenhower, a Republican.

Man that is sick. You guys want it both ways, the democrats are week on terror and national security and they are bad people for initiating the act that ended the war in the Pacific with the Japanese, possibly saving millions of lives in that act. That was a real below the belt question, especially if you know anything about World War Two. Truman had balls to do what he did, and he took the responsibility. What more could you ask for?

LOL sick of the Monica Lewinsky thing gotta go 60 years back to find something else.

Um do you know why Iran has uranium in the first place? Remember a little thing known in the papers as "The Iran Contra Scandal"? You know, weapons and, well, "other stuff" (what other stuff? Well , no one can recall)- that was a Republican.

How about this one? Remember this one? Its a great joke!

"READ MY LIPS! NO NEW TAXES!"
Direct quote, from a President who later indeed raised taxes, but not on Big Oil. Another Republican, another Bush.
Or how about the US invading Panama, looking for and eventually catching the despot Reagan (a Republican) put in power to begin with? You remember Manuel Noriega dont you?
No?

How about "Whip Inflation Now" buttons, printed by the millions, with lead based paint, which of course, did nothing to whip inflation, which was in the double digits during ANOTHER Republicans reign (The Late Honorable Gerald Ford)

But of course, he had it the worst. He had to take over for that most evil of Republicans, Lyndon Baines Joh- no wait I mean Richard Milhous Nixon. Master criminal, who said he would never step onto communist China but who ultimately did, before resigning in disgrace over the Watergate Scandal, not to mention the OTHER war Republicans botched; Vietnam....

Id keep going, but my fingers are tired

No, I would say you are a troll if the questions you are asking are designed for one purpose... to incite anger and cause arguments. I would say you are a troll if your responses to questions are the same old accusatory statements that have absolutely no basis in facts. Trolls are on both sides of the political spectrum. It just seems they tend to be more liberal than not.

So, whats your point? That has nothing to do with right now and the fact that Bush failed and people are trying to make him out as some sort of innocent person. He isnt innocent and I am not saying we are either. Anyways what have you got against liberals, we have different ideals and beleifs but I am not saying your a gun loving, kill all, prick, so why do you feel you need to use those words? To piss us off? Because it can work for some and then again it can make the assumption that you got nothing productive or meaningful enough to do then to get a rise out of us. Do something useful, ask something that makes sense and that will help everyone out instead of seperating america.

WW2 was a nasty fight to the bitter end with vast conventional weapons, the Japanese mingled military and civilians, we killed hundreds of thousands of them and their military didn't care they thought of the deaths of their people as "pretty, broken glass" a great thing for Japan...Japan was fighting as if we were going to kill everyone on the island, they told their people how to eat weeds and acorns and trained them to fight with sharpened sticks...my father was in a transport in San Francisco in 1945...if the bomb didn't work, we would have invaded with troops with 100,000 dead on our side and millions on theirs....How can you compare what is going on today with 1940-45...Bush is not dealing with the present situation and is adding to the problem, I think he and people who talk like you do want there to be a big war, but this isn't WW3

That has nothing to do with Iraq and Bush's illegal war! WE WERE ATTACKED AT PEARL HARBOR! Why do idiots like you try and compare the events of a real war 60 years ago with today?

Back then we were the only ones who had them! Today no president can afford to drop one as one might get dropped back!

In retrospect, I am not for the bombing of either Japanese cities. I certainly would be opposed to the second!

FDR was lied to by his generals who claimed both were military targets; they weren't! The bombs certainly ended the war with Japan!
