Yep, I first fired my dad's 38 when I was about 16. Since then I have fired a 44 Magnum (damn that sucker kicked) and a shotgun, but I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with that one.

after I went by virtually a three hundred and sixty 5 days in the past, our ordinary Markmanship instructor (The "drill instructor" who teaches a thanks to shoot- and is waaaaay extra laid back than your Drill instructors) stated the recruits that had shot previously were those who were the most difficulty, because they had to be damaged from their undesirable habit. We had aprox 80 5 recruits in our platoon- all yet 2 qualified (those 2 qualified later in the day). And the DI's will allow you to recognize you should qualify on qual day or you'd be dropped to a special platoon and performance to bypass by the week all throughout back. it truly is unfaithful- I heard of a recruit that failed SIX cases previously being dropped. you'd be issued glasses if mandatory, that you'll placed on continually for the era of Boot Camp. (at the same time with even as firing) The quarterdeck is portion of a deliver, yet at Boot Camp, it truly is termed the section the position recruits who have not preformed properly ought to do severe routines for thus long because the DI tell him to (generally 5-10 minutes). it truly is referred to as Incentive education (Or getting it would, Quarterdecked, going to the pit, etc.)

Yes, I have a .22 that I started on at 100 yards I can hit the bullseye dead on, I have shot a .30-06 I can like that one, and I have shot a muzzleloader, I like that, it kicks and blows some smoke but it's more of a sport one shot one kill.

I shot a hunting rifle when I was younger and a Pistol that my brother was issued when he was first in the police acdamy--They both were fine, but never shoot a gun at a bucket full of glass bottles...learned it the hard way.

I've got a .22 and a 12 gage for hunting, but usually just shoot in my yard.
Living in the country has it's advantages.
