My ex of about 6 years now has recently told me he still loves me. He has said it a few times over the years as well. We are friends or so I had thought! He was very special to me. My problem is I'm now being ignored. As much as I find it pathetic, I can't understand it. I mean what on earth have I done?

This guy ended it as he was told by some girl who fancied him and her mates who I know. I had cheated on him. Which I didn't do. He was very insecure due to his childhood etc. He finds it very hard to trust but I always stuck by what I said and was around if he needed someone to sound off on. He is a lovely bloke. I'm with someone and he knows I am.

I think it all depends on the circumstances.
I mean, its 6 years now and there was a reason you broke up in the first place and that reason should be kept, its no good just sweeping it under the carpet because then your just hiding feelings you don't want to believe.
It depends what kind of guy he is, is he the type to just play you around? You should know, you've known him for a long time. Or does he genuinely love you?
In my opinion, hes playing, since he didn't get the response he expected when he told you he loved you, he's decided its not worth the effort to try and get into your pants.
But he could have ignored you because he thought you didn't feel the same way. I have no idea, i don't know the full situation.

I had the same problem as you not so long ago. I am on friendly terms with my ex after we broke up (but it did not happen straight away). I started to get texts from him saying he loves me and wants me but i know deep down its not true. I had to think to myself the reason we broke up in the firat place? Is he mature enough? Can he change and does he really want me? or is he just messing with my head because he knows how to play me? If you can answer these questions then you know in your heart the answer. Its nothing wrong with you. Is it him?

Look not to sound rude or anything but,I seems like this boy really loves you or just wants to make another person jealous.I mean get over it ,it has been 6 years ago!But if you like him and still love him go for it.But to be honest if he treated you right and with love... I think you should go for it.But if he treated you like dirt DON'T!

How odd. I would leave him to stew as I think he is playing you. If you ignore him, he will probably wonder whats going on and contact you again. Have you got someone else? Sounds like you should.

look i will not tell you how to live your life
as it is not my place but maybe he is tackling some problems of hs own. maybe he still loves you but is struggling with the idea that you do not feel the same. come out and ask him.honesty is the best policy.

tell him that your relationship is in the past and that is where you want it to stay. Tell him you do not want to lose him as a friend.
