I've heard negative things about poetry.com. Should I let them publish my poem?

NO WAY!!!!! many of the poetry websites you see all have something to do with poetry.com or what not.. and all they care about is getting money.. i mean i searched it up with a family member and we read a poem that made it as a semifinalist taht was the stupidest poem ever and wasn't even that great and the person who wrote it knew taht it was bad but wrote it just to see if they could make it as a semi-finalist with that poem.. and surprisingly they did.. now if they were a real poetry website and contest thing then they wouldn't have done that. also who invites you to a convention then where you get to meet all the other poets but you have to pay for everything your self still.. most things would give you discounts on whatever hotel they are in then or what not.. but they did none of that... and everything they charge you is ridiculous.. so expensive for all that they are asking.. don't do it.. don't waste your money on them.. better submit to a real publisher that you know of..(look in regular poem books out or something and see if they will accept some of your poems and publish them...)..

If you have doubts about a thing usually it is because in the back of your mind you know its harmful to you. It's probably wise to not let poetry.com publish your poem. You will be recognize in other ways. I know it. Poetry.com just wants your money and no one i know goes there anyways...so who's going to read your poem. If you want to share your poem with someone just go up to them and say, "Do you want to hear my poem? It's really good." Something like that. You have to start somewhere but not poetry.com.

I won a Poetry contest for my poem The Light. I got a Gold and a Silver award. $2,500.00 was for first place, I didn't get one dime all tho I got the highest award in Poetry. They wonted to publish my poem, and charge me to do so. I simply told them to take their contest, book of poems and go to Hell.

They say that to everyone. Someone tried to get denied and wrote something stupid and they still got a letter saying they wanted to publish them. Its a hoax so they can talk you into buying their book.
