So I got my period on Jan 4th around 2 am in the morning ( yeah i woke up to pee and eww) After my period was over around the 11th my husband and I started to have unprotected sex ... just for the hell of it. My best ovulation days where from the 15th to the 18th and i have had unprotected sex all of those days. Although now i am reading that to much sex is not good to concieve even though it was around day of ovulation? I also did the whole lay in bed for 30 min with a pillow under my butt : ) Just wondering am I going about this all wrong? Keep in mind it is our 1st month trying to conceive, me 24, hubby, 26. Anyways please give me all of your thoughts on this. I can't get having a child of our own out of my head and i think its gonna like "jinx" us or something....

You're not doing anything wrong - in fact, it sounds like you're doing everything right! The only time that it's best NOT to have sex every day during your most fertile window is if there is a known issue with your partner's sperm count being low. (In that case, it's considered best to have sex every other day in order to allow his sperm count to build back up in between.) But if all is normal for the two of you, then keep doing what you're doing - and best of luck to you!!

According to the book "What to expect when you're expecting" you should have as much sex as you want - the more the better. At least every other day for the few days before you ovulate (your most fertile time). As others have said above, only in cases where the man's sperm count is low should you cut back on the sex.

I think you're probably wasting your time with the waiting 30 minutes thing, unless you know there's a fertility problem for your or your husband. It certainly won't hurt anything, but I don't think it will help, either.

Have you talked with your doctor about getting pregnant? If you haven't, you should. There are several things you can't do/eat when you're pregnant (no Advil but Tylenol is ok, no diet drinks containing saccharin, etc). And you should make sure you're getting enough folic acid in your diet or through vitamins - my doctor told me to take pre-natal vitamins, but I'm not sure if that's recommended for everyone.

Good luck!

Too much sex does not hurt your chances for having a baby. Males are designed to impregnate multiple partners in as short a period of time, so do not worry about decreased sperm count. The only time you would have to worry about that is that if he was sleeping with multiple partners. Since all his sperm is going into you, that is not a problem. Also, you have to realize that sperm also can live in a woman for a period of time that is longer than you probably think.
Since you are stating out trying, it could be that you are coming off of the effects of whatever birth control method that you used before, assuming it was not a condom, some form of pill or injection.
If that is not the case, and you keep trying then and nothing, make sure that nothing is wrong with him or you with a doctor.

Too much sex is still lots of fun.

Don't think about it ... it may be causing stress therefore making it harder to conceive... good luck!!!
