I think sometimes they think I'm incompatient of doing anything worth doing. I have been working this company for a whole year and the ONLY THING that I dont know how to do is the mangers cash out for the day and things of this nature. But everything else I can do and do it very well the general manager and the regional manager told me this themselves. They even said I have the poteintal to be a manager. But I have stated early to a shift manager that at this time in my life I'm not looking to work here for 10 to 15 yrs. Its fast food for Christ-sake. So I really I'm really thinking about getting another job! I've tried to convence myself that they do this to give new people a shot. But my friend said its cause your black and they only let go so fare up the ladder before the stop you. Can you believe that! Nowadays I just dont know what to think anymore! & I try to be open minded.

ANY ADVICE AT ALL PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOU THOUGHTS.

AND THANKS IN ADVANCE!

You are working in fast food. By definition, you're going to get easy tasks.

If you want difficult tasks, find a higher caliber job.

You've already told a manager that you're not there for the long term. Businesses don't want to hear that. They will give the more difficult tasks to those who will be there for the long term.

So, get out of there as soon as you can. Don't get stuck in a dead end job.

Please, if you are ever going to get anywhere in life, do me a favor and learn to spell. Incompetent, not incompatient, FAR not fare, quiet not quite.
Now my answer. Fast food sucks, i know that. You can do so much more than that if you want. I couldn't imagine what fast food employees go through, my siblings all did it and i know that the pay and hours were horrible. You should go to school and get an education. (I will always say that community college is so much better than a huge university for the first two years because its cheaper and a lot more personal-if you think money's an issue) And A good job to have is bartending through school. And if you are still in high school, don't settle for something you're not happy with. None of this is because you are black, its probably company policy that only the managers have access and control over the money. Most places are like that. Get a different job, its not worth the headache. Good luck

Stop using your color as a crutch every time you don't get what you want out of life. There are a million things you can have and a million things you will never have. That's life. I don't think you are as good as you think you are, your spelling and grammar are terrible, but the one thing I think clinched it for you by the way of not getting promoted was the fact that you told a shift manager that you were not looking to work for the next 10 or 15 yrs. in fast food. Why would they promote you if you're just going to leave in the next few years. It must be nice being able to play the race card and blame your skin color on all your short comings instead of looking at your actual limitations.

I would think they don't feel you do as good of a Job as you think you do.
