i jogged for about 15 mins on wednesday and same this evening both on the pavement. i have a pain at the very top of my leg and it hurts when i move it, could it be from running on tarmac? what could i do to help it?

cant answer that, what sort of pain, where exactly, joint, bone, muscle?

wouldnt expect anything serious from such short jogs.

I really don't want to alarm you, but from what you describe it very well could be a DVT.. Some other things to look at, is the leg swollen at all, any color change in the skin? It is a possiblity due to family history and taking a BC pill since they tend to increase coag's.

If you mean the front of your thigh when you say the top of your leg, stand on one leg with one leg bent behind you and pull you heel toward your buttocks. You should feel the front of the thigh stretch. Muscles will hurt after exercise because of lactic acid buildup, and you need to stretch to prevent the pain or make pain go away.

Think you need to give your legs a rest. Try running on your hands for a bit but be sure to wear some good thick running mittens. If you get any more sports injuries I will be available for further consultation
